I have caught them with marshmellows, DDG's in a small dish, or an egg.
To get them out I take 2 10' long pieces of pvc conduit put together to make 20' and tip the trap over making sure the wind is in my favor. Get the trap tipped over and unlatched lay the pipe down and pick up the shotgun. Haven't been sprayed yet.
