Subject: RE: Fuel truck as a firetruck

Callao Missouri
Pumps aren't going to be the same. A fire truck is going to have a centrifugal pump. The fuel truck has something else, and im sure it requires the lube of the oil or fuel passing through it.

Reason I think this is a fuel truck will pump at idle, and make a vibration sound momentarily until a relief kicks in when you dead head the flow. A fire truck will run 1500 rpm and no change when flow is stopped. Hopefully someone can tell you more about a fuel truck pump.
