NW Ohio | They are doing the same thing around my area. Just fixed a tile for a guy that the bored a hole through. They tried fixing it once by packing dirt into the hole to keep it from washing out. "It didn't seal off" was the guys response when he was told it still had a problem.
Here they are on the road right of way, the county knows about it, and they have permission. The county is working on 80+ drainage tile issues, caused by spectrum, that they know about so far. I don't mind the upgraded communication lines going in, however, a little communication from them would have been great and would have saved many problems!. In your case, they very well could be using an existing utilities easement or even the road easement to install the lines... Most easements that I have seen are as someone else mentioned. They have permission to install whatever the easement is originally for, and then whatever they dream up later in the future. Very important to have wording in there specifying exactly what and when can be installed when signing an easement. | |
