They have been putting fiber optic internet lines in our and probably counties all over the state for awhile now. I think our county is mostly done now. I’m sure it is all government funded . There was no easement discussion on the county roads where the land owner technically owns to the center of a road. They just buried the lines.


20 years ago, some company appeared one day and trenched in a cable in the road ditch. They didn't have any permit, didn't ask permission. They just showed up and did it. Cut a bunch of our tile lines. Luckily they didn't hit water, electric or gas lines, but they were not going that deep. Never saw them again. No one knew who they were. No one ever came back. They left cables sticking out of the ground in several spots. And I had to fix the damaged tile lines. 20 years and never used that cable!!!

Ohio Bell and Ohio Edison had to have easements when they installed poles and underground cables in our township. My research says that Spectrum should too. I have no problem with them using Ohio Edison's poles to hang it on, but Ohio Edision charges them $250 per pole......
