Sunburst Montana | Those cubers were only suited for the arid west hay regions like mine because the hay had to be something like 2% moisture in order for the machine to work. I’ve had a few chances to buy one down in Wyoming and up in Canada. I know you like IH Mark so I’ll give this a IH spin. The biggest reason JD developed a cuber is because they caught wind that IH was working on one. And once IH dropped their efforts JD continued their design to kinda show up IH. This was going on in the early 60s when JD was overtaking IH. It was kinda a tit for tat thing like the 8020 vs 4300 tractors. Cubed hay was suppose to be the next “big” thing for feedlots like your brochure says. Truth is it didn’t take off and JD sold something like 1,000 units in 20 years of production. | |
