SW WI | Plenty of Youtube videos regarding shifting issues on the Honda Ranchers with push putton shift. A $20 shift bypass kit fixed my neighbors 2003 machine that would randomly quit shifting and kept getting worse over a few years. Source of problems can be shift motor, shift sensor, push button switch, or ECU (brain box). Videos will walk you thru different scenarios. If turning key off and back on gets it to shift or tapping on engine computer... spend the $20 on the bypass kit because the engine computer is a pricey little nugget. | |
