I know I may start a brand war; wanted some insight into trucks. We have a really beat up F-250, a really beat up Nissan Frontier, and a somewhat dented up a rusty Chevy 2500 service truck. Gas mileage stinks on all of them, lot of rust, poor brakes etc. Thinking of replacing all three with an F-350 dually with a goose-neck hitch and plow. Not a new one, but half decent used one. Would be used for hauling a 24' cattle trailer once or twice a week for a few miles, plowing some driveways too small for silage bladed tractor, and some emergency repairs. Also thinking about getting an old used Subaru for parts runs etc I've heard lots of pluses and minuses to lots of trucks. I'd like again, to hear some guys experiences with f-350 or similar. Doesn't matter if one is more powerful or better looking, just want one that's reliable more than anything. Assuming the underneath is good and maybe a little corrosion or a few dents, what's a ballpark figure on price for a good truck? I was thinking around $10-12K. Doesn't need to look great, just run well. Thank you. |
