Subject: step kids/grand kids in obituaries

A while back I read the obituary of a distant relative,in it the daughters that had little to do with their father after the parents divorce were mentioned first and then the step kids that he raised after their father died and he married the mother are listed as step kids,,,ok,no problem with that. But then the grandkids from the estanged daughters were listed as grandkids but the children of his wife's kids are listed as step grandkids even though he was the only grandfather they had ever known.

The wife's grandkids were far closer than any biological kids but the word "step" just seemed to make them secondary or lessen their relationship even though me spent 50 years in that family .
