What planter is it.? I have always had trouble with large seed like you describe. Kinze makes a kit to address your problem. I just installed one on mine. Can give you details if needed.
I installed the entrainer kit on mine. When the kit came in, one of the entrainers was damaged and Kinze didn't have the parts to fix it. We already had one side (12 rows) installed before we realized the other was damaged. Went to the field to plant and had 0 problems with the new replacement. The old side continued to cause problems with larger seed. Smaller seed size definitely helps. Graphite has always worked the best for me but I have neighbors that only use the mix 80/20. My local dealer has an entrainer kit in stock for a 24 row. Kinze came up with the parts to replace on the first set they sent and now the dealer has a complete new entrainer kit in stock. Kinze apparently has issues with dealers returning things.
