I am not familiar with the U of MN trials you cite, but do they suggest it is possible to only use 1/3 - 1/2 normal rates? What would be "normal"?

Are they saying that if you use those reduced rates you will not affect your overall soil test readings based on 4 yr retest cycles assuming you are careful not to pull the test plugs from the strips? This would be regardless of your starting soil test results. Will those readings remain unchanged after years of reduced replenishment?

Just asking, not arguing.
