Just curious if op will be paying all the expenses for your daughter’s wedding? When our daughter got married a couple of years ago we gave them a set amount and said the rest was up to you. They wanted a venue when a wedding at our church would have saved quite a bit so they paid the extra. SIL parents did not help much. Now son is getting married and future DIL’s father asked us if we would be willing to contribute….. I guess that is the way of the world now, sigh….
When both of are sons got married we volunteered to pay for 1/2 of the wedding expenses. Both were nice weddings but not extravagant. I don’t agree that the brides family is expected to pay for most of the wedding cost.
