Subject: Deere vs Precision

SW WI
During planting and slightly after, I’m always daydreaming of what I want on my next planter. Strongly considering a Deere planter but seems I’ve come across some concerns that the Deere meters ( still learning their branding terminology) are NOT as forgiving as precision. Currently have a stock White planter and was considered going to precision with electric on that but I’m wanting other upgrades and trading for new will make more sense.

What set off my inquiry was a Larson farm’s video saying a little disappointed on the Deere meter with flat seed…..

Oh…just like a White planter? ***

And the age old debate….does 97% vs 99.8% singulation really matter? I can get 99.8 out of my White. But not all day, every day, really, really dependent on the seed…size, weight, how tight of grading system. Over the years I’ve had some companies seed that I’m going to call floor sweepings as they would jam my meter and not allow it to turn. That set the ball in motion for either meter upgrades for current planter or trading.

I’m focused on meters for now. Other stuff like hyd down pressure, row cleaners, fertilizer package, closing wheels….. I feel are user specific for their situation. Want to hear some experience you had. Thanks.
