Highland Center, in Southeast Iowa | timis - 5/16/2026 08:47 Oldest daughter recently got engaged and we’re starting the process of getting some plans put together. What is a reasonable expectation of money to spend on this and are there any areas where people tend to overspend? I know there’s people who can get it done for $5000 and there’s people who spend 50k (yikes) so what’s a reasonable expectation? They’re good kids and both sides have large families- and a lot of connections, so I’m guessing it’ll be a larger wedding.
Let me hook you up with my friend who is an event planner in a tourist-y area of Wisconsin..... Her venue alone is $35k, then food, drink, decor and flowers are over and above that! Other perks are available at an additional fee as well. jk!! Our wedding was cheapcheapcheap....our son and d-i-l's was very well done for just inexpensive. It takes work to keep costs in a reasonable range but it can be done. |
