Here we need a dot number to haul to the local coop. They claim we might be in interstate commerce because the coop MIGHT sell the grain across state lines.
I sure think that one is a stretch as I am not engaged crossing the state line, the coop might, but that is not my business.
Kind of like saying the feds are involved in the drug trade as the federal roads might be used to move drugs.
I had a manure truck written up for no DOT number displayed. Two miles from dairy to field, no interstate commerce with that rig.
