I agree with Hedge Tree, sounds like PMR. I had very similar symptoms 4 or 5 years ago. Very difficult to diagnose. When the doctor finally figured out what it was , I was started on 50 mg of prednisone. Symptoms disappeared within 6 hours. I was weaned off in about six months, but the symptoms reappeared. I am currently on 2 mg and feel good.

My doctor does not like prednisone but is happy with the 2 mg.
