northwest Missouri | I’m not sure on exact costs but in our. District we have 7 buses and maybe only 100-125 students ride the bus. District spans 35 miles corner to corner. That adds a lot of cost. There are classes in lowers elementary that have half the kids that require some sort of special education. This adds up to a lot of teachers and paraprofessionals as some of these kids are disabled enough to have to have a para with them all day. Most the private schools I know of have know lunch available. Maintaining a kitchen can add up to fair amount of money at times. I’m sure the public schools are not as efficient but in their defense they receive all of the high cost students. | |
