There is a lot of trial and error when first starting out, and the diabetes complicates healing.

Getting a snug fit with the prosthetic is important to keep from shearing skin or getting blisters.

Using more socks to take up volume will help, and adding more socks during the day may also be needed.

Most new amps don't just put on their new leg and take off walking. It takes time to learn balance and get used to the pressures on the residual limb.

Is he going to any therapy to help with his mobility?
