bring yields up over what....notill or conventional tillage?
Just asking which.

My experience both... when I switched from conventional to strip till I did a field where I stripped 2/3rds of the field and broadcast the same amount of fertilizer on the last 3rd and worked it in with a field cultivator pass. Strip till was about 10 bu/acre better in corn.

Now my soybean tests have been a different story... last year I did 10 acres of strip tilled soybeans with fertilizer on 30in rows, 5 acres of no fertilizer and a spring vt pass on 30in rows, and 5 acres of 15in rows with a single vt pass no fertilizer. Under a half bushel difference in yield between all 3 cases... which to me is pretty insignificant.
