Croswell, Michigan | I had a neighbor that was a really good friend of mine. He was a retired dairy farmer and just a great guy. He and his wife lived very frugally. I was over visiting one day, and they were talking about how they were cleaning out their deep freeze so they could get a new one. His wife(this woman was tough as nails, she had knee surgery and walked out of the hospital and told him to keep their pain meds) told me she had found some frozen peaches in the bottom of the freezer. She said I haven’t frozen peaches since before my mom died, and she passed away 16 years ago. I jokingly said how were they? She replied “oh, not bad”(she was not joking!) | |
