Not if you can drive straight or have guidance. I used to plant for a guy with a 16 row and he harvested with a 6 row and got along fine. That was even before I had guidance. Depends on your ability and the field layout. I knew a guy that harvested 8 rows 1 way and 4 back so he could make a round. I always wondered if the 4 row pass kept the combine full enough to do a good job.
