Northeast Tennessee
Noticed several articles about Texas Roadhouse CEO Jerry Morgan, in 2025 per these articles his total compensation went to over $10.8 million. The American public has come to expect cheap food at the expense of the farmer and rancher. People think $50,000+ for car is ok, $500,000+ for house is ok, but $10+ for a pound of steak is not ok, $3+ for a dozen eggs is not ok. I think $100,000+ for a new 100hp tractor is not ok, but no one really cares what I think. Most of us in production agriculture could make more money on a regular job, most of the next generation of potential farmers and ranchers will be working the regular job for better money and benefits and less worry and aggravation.
