I see in their quarterly earnings report that Texas Roadhouse said they are finally seeing demand destruction with high beef prices. They cited that consumers were switching to pork and chicken as an alternative. So is this really demand destruction based on beef prices or is this related to less discretionary money based on high fuel prices? Will be interesting to see how that market plays out over the next 12 months. With the covid inflation still close in the rear view mirror it isn't going to take much to put the bottom 50% in a world of hurt in a hurry. Equities are ripping while I see the path we are heading down leading to a recession if things don't change fairly quickly.

Texas roadhouse is first expensive and second not exactly top grade meat.

What's the price in the grocery store where most people buy food to eat? 4 to 6 for hamburger, and the highest I seen in Fargo was $25 a pound for grass fed organic fillet mignon. Same as two years ago.

If you think beef is too high, then buy some cows and get in on it. If you already have cows, buy more. Join the fun of the beef markets.
