East Central Arkansas | The bad part was when cutting stalks without the shield you were steady throwing soil with the rear tires on top of the deck. Often running when you might be going through some wet spots. That accumulation mixed with cotton stalks was a job to clean off. The main frame of this cutter is on top of the deck making pockets that the trash gets in making it harder to clean off. Was looking at it after cleaning off and thinking about at least taking the sheet metal off the shield but soon saw that would be more of a job than I want to tackle right now. It would make it easier to blow the grass and dirt off that still seems to really accumulate on the deck. The shield weight being to the front really don't add that much weight to lifting the cutter. I was proud of the job we did of building that shield. Many folks just had like sheets of plywood proped up with angle iron directly behind the tractor wheels.
