| I am not paying that, but the going rent is pretty close to that.
My point is that even $5 rent is break even on some ground.
I am told $350 not far from me.
My expenses are high, but go buy fertilizer today. IF you are farming ground including your labor ( family living), you are the odd man out getting by for $85 an acre.
I would bet my true living expenses are more than that, but I am a small time farmer.
Health insurance alone was running $36 an acre, until my wife got on Medicare.
It looks like trucking on 40 bushel beans could be $20. | |
