I've been hitting the clips tight with a hammer.
Lost 2.
I think some of the holes are drilled to close to the end of the shaft.
You can plant without them, but they will usually plant slightly lower.
The disc will suck to the seal. and the gear will still grab the disc.
It will bounce around on the screen like you got wind blowing up your tubes.
