live in Spfd, farm located NW Macoupin county
turpentine works for me.
Another line of defense; scatter some corn on top of the ground around the edge of the field while planting or right after. I take a 5 gallon bucket of corn and throw out handfuls of corn as I plant the edge of the field (open station tractor). The critters will take the easy picking on top of the ground and leave the planted corn time to sprout and get out of the ground.
