Wouldn't it be way easier and cheaper to set up a new starlink at the other end? 100mbs plan is 35/mo now for 4 month reg $50 and free hardware.
Then you also could set up the new account in your wifes name with a different email and refer yourself. By referring you new and existing account will both get 1 month free.
I thought about doing just what your wanting. By the time you go through all the hassell, and whats the real likely hood of having 100% uptime and no other issues.... Just bite the bullet and have it work well for 35-50$/mo
Easier... perhaps. Way cheaper? Definitely not. There's no monthly charge for using the Ubiquiti equipment referred to above. Buying the equipment would probably cost about as much as a few months of service... and then no recurring fee, for years.
I've been using this solution for many years, and the only times I've had issues were through no fault of those devices (power failures). I think that the ones I'm currently using are around 6 years old, but it seems reasonable to me that one could plan on getting 5 years of service out of a setup before you might need to repair or replace it with something else. |
