They could service 10 times the combines. Exactly. The highest volume year for combine sales in the USA was 1979 when approximately 30,000 combines were sold compared to just a few thousand per year in recent years. Sure, they were smaller machines but also 10 dealers had a chance to make a sale. Same with planters. 3 or 4 dealers had a chance to sell a 6 or 8 row planter compared to one dealer selling a 24 row planter. |
