I do think it's windier than 60+ yrs ago. However, I remember blowing dust/dirt in the early '60s. Dirt would start blowing & we would go out with rotary hoe behind an IH M. Wore sunglasses and tied a handkerchief around your mouth. Then "stripped" the emerged corn to try & stop the blowing dirt from cutting it off at the ground.

Sometimes we had to stop planting because you couldn't see the mark any longer due to blowing dirt.

But, 65 yrs later, the blowing dirt is still there. However, the removal of fence rows & hedge & multiflower rose rows may have expanded the problem

The dirt doesn't blow so much with notill, but neighbors & road commissioners usually want to know who's going to clean up the tons of stalks now piled in the yards or road ditches.
