F04 indicates a failure in the fuel solenoid circuit. It is not uncommon for the solenoids themselves to go bad. Left side of the engine. A round solenoid with a single wire connected to a spade terminal on the front side of the injection pump. Just spin it out and spin a new one in. You could check that you have 12v power to the solenoid before replacing it. Or unplug the terminal and run a wire straight from the battery to the solenoid and see if that makes a difference.
