Has anyone conferted to solar power for there home? If so what company? Is it just solar panels, or panels along with batteries?
Panels will only make power when the sun is shining and the majority of that is middle of the sun-time.
If you don't have loads to take whatever power they can make during that time, they will only make enough power for the load.
Batteries are required if you want to have power when the sun isn't on. Also batteries are the "load" that can utilize the power when it's available. So, if panels will make 21KW, your house only needs 1KW in the middle of the day, you can stuff that 20KW into batteries, which can then run the house the rest of the day.
