So many things you post are incorrect..

1) Illegals are not eligible for welfare.. there are some states. California etc which offer but the US does not.. and when you’re trying to gain citizenship why would you risk breaking the law.. as is mostly the case.  “Hi I’m here illegally to apply for welfare”. I mean that doesn’t even make sense but I hear it often from certain areas.. Fox News.. who was sued about lieing about elections.  So basically propaganda.

2) There’s enough Dick Cheney in me to recognize the importance of Iran.. however, trumps actions were not very well thought out.. he clearly did not consider Hormuz.. which most could see as a problem.. anyone who knows the energy trade could explain the relevance of Hormuz.. Trump did not send enough horse power to keep it open.. which may take more then the US can do.. we’ll see.. but clearly 2 carrier battle groups was not enough.  Now he’s trying to resestablish the JCPOA.. which most on the right have made fun of.. but.. slowed Irans nuclear ambitions probably more than this invasion has.  Polls show a majority of Americans think the hard liners are now more apt to pursue an Iranian nuclear (dirty bomb.. etc) option.. which appears legit.  WW2 was a war of attrition.. thecAllies bombed the heck out of the Germans.. and yet Germany developed the V2.. later the US jump started its space exploration.. NASA with Germany technology.. Werner Von Braun.. etc.  Kinetic actions can impede.. but may not stop.. entirely a nations will.. see Ukraine.. etc..

3) I never supported Biden but he added well over a million jobs in his final year.. I’ll concede that most of what he claims as jobs was the rebound from Covid.. but as boomers retire.. the work must be filled by someone.. and immigration checks part of that box.. AI can replace middle managers..see Amazon etc.. but AI can’t feed.. haul nor process cattle.. nor pick fruits and vegetables etc.. that takes manual laborers.. which is in short supply.

4) The Southern plains.. we’re just coming out of (or still in) a three year + drought.. on our farm we harvested more from some fields last year then the previous three years combined.. our misfortune is what contributed to others “so called good times.”  Ditto the droughts of 2011 and 12.  We have not had enough “good years” to offset the losses from 11, 12, 22, 23, 24 etc..

The original aid.. passed by the previous administration was set up to address this.  There’s still parts remaining to be disbursed.  Trump admits his tariffs will cause harm.. see Soybean exports.. to US producers.. although higher energy costs.. are now pushing bio diesel prices.. which.. Iran etc.. could be contributing to.. if you’re inclined to see it that way.

5) Electric vehicles are coming and will be displacing some ICE units.  They are cheaper and more economical in todays markets.. (Ice can not compete for daily commutes in most reasonably priced electricity cities) petroleum usage.. and ethanol will be impacted.. especially now with the latest petroleum spike.
