Joking aside, the cost of new will have to come down. Not just the purchase cost, but also the operating cost.
Machinery sales will be slower until all the used is worn out.
It is to the point I COULD buy a new tractor and a new combine. but why would I?
It is not that I don't like new equipment, as I have bought a fair share of my stuff new. It is just the value is not there like it has been in the past.
