Cedar Rapids, Iowa | All of the Ubiquiti 5AC equipment is compatible with each other. The main difference is how directional the antenna is.
The NanoStation Loco has an antenna with a pattern of about 90 degrees. You just aim it in the general direction and it works. Downside is that wide of a beam pattern limits your range to about 1/2 mile. Ideally under 1/4 mile.
In the middle of the range is the LiteBeam. It has a beam about 15 degrees wide. Still pretty easy to aim, but can do up to maybe 6 miles. Very comfortable for anything under 2 miles.
I don't know how wide the antenna beam is on the NanoBeam. Should be similar to the LiteBeam. It's smaller than the LiteBeam and would catch less wind, but it is more expensive than the LiteBeam.
On the other end of the spectrum, the PowerBeam is a big dish with a very focused beam that's only about 1 degree wide. You need to take some time aiming it properly. However, it can do 10+ miles. | |
