Iowa
I make a sale to reward the market as others have said. I don't necessarily have a price target, but I make a sale when the market is in an up trend and looks like a good value based on the historical prices for the last 6 months to a year. I try to sell around 20% especially of beans in the Jan-Feb rallies before the South American crop hits the market and sell the rallies April-June for the rest. I did make some December sales for this year; simply because you could get close to $5/bu in corn and that is a pretty good price based on the last few years.
