Reads like you did good to me. The person was obviously reaching out for help. Conducting wellness (welfare) checks is part of a LEOs job. Depending on jurisdiction, dispatch could have possibly dispatched a mental health specialist to reach out to the person.
Totally agree. Wellness checks are common for police. There should be nothing negative that comes from it. Sounds like the guy was reaching out for help. The police should have the resources he needs if he chooses to accept them |
