Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | I was just talking about this yesterday to my son how insurance has changed cropping practices out here on the fringe. Right now we are too dry to plant. Most will go ahead and plant at some point knowing they are mostly covered with insurance. Without insurance, there would likely be a lot of fallow acres or something else like forages planted later if it rained. Few would gamble the inputs in this situation without insurance coverage. |
