Anyone that pays over 4 dollars for gas or 7 for ground beef is not very smart. E85 is under 2 dollars. E30 is under 2.50 a gallon. Locker plant is advertising quarter and half grain finished beef for 4.95 a pound. Including processing ground beef,patties roast and steak.
I guess myself and everyone else in michigan are not very smart then because gas is common to be over $4/gallon now. No e30 here, just e10 or e85 only at a few select stations and I have better things to do with my time than to try to blend my own. When you buy a quarter or half beef on hanging weight your take home is around 60% of hanging weight ($4.95/lb is obviously for HW), depending on how you have it cut.
