They have over 400 employees. So at 400,000 acres thats under a 1000 acres/ employee. If someone can’t make a living on it then the employees were a drain to the operation.
Not at all trying to justify anything at all- but 1000 acres per employee sounds like a a lot of employees per acre for a grain farm. Sounds like a really big number for a cattle grazing operation. But- didn't they also have a pretty sizable produce operation as well? 1000 acres per employee in a produce farm would be an incredibly unbelievable number. Depending on how the planting, care, and harvesting takes place, 100 acres per employee might still be a stretch. |
