Subject: RE: value of 'mechanics specials'... sometimes youre lucky...

Peace River, AB, Canada
Sometimes you get "lucky" too, Went to a big auction place and was shopping for a water truck, just 5 days before auction.
Saw also a Peterbilt coming to the sale yard, driving in, was close enough to see and hear cat engine running real nice.
Was added to the sale list a day later as inoperable...
Bought it reasonable and hauled it home, couldn't fire and no smoke, after looking at shutoff solenoid and wiring found the not really obvious problem..
Rewired harness and ran right away.... Yes, I had a lemon too..A Cat 65B with shot Clutch and Diff. couldnt find the whole steering diff unit anywhere used or new.
