SC WI | Sounds like a bigger pain than it’s worth. I would target items I could get for 50% of value, have 25% budget in repairs, leaving 25% sweat equity. A lot of those margins dried up, so I moved on. I was knowledgeable in Cummins engines and had/have accumulated plenty of spare parts. A complete overhaul kit is a fraction of a reman cost or less, so taking the time to properly diagnose/rebuild an engine yourself is probably the best bang for buck, but if you are buying a reman, your gonna have a hard time penciling it. | |
