I have a 1 year old Nutrimax 1000. Last year was my first year using it. It was also my first time using any kind of side dress machine, so I don’t know what kind of opinion to have of it. Like you I also had been looking at used machines, but eventually decided that a good condition used side dress bar must be a very rare thing to exist.

I have the 13 row option.

The bar doesn’t fold or unfold well at all. I have to play with the hydraulic speed every fold/unfold cycle throughout the cycle to prevent the wings from crashing. One wing will come down, hydraulic fluid flowing across making the other one raise. I don’t know if it’s a 13 row option problem, geometry problem, or a lack of orifices problem.

I had planned to get some inline orifices installed but forgot about it until right now.

The machine also had about a dozen leaks but that’s on my local dealer and their high school employee. Supposedly it was tested before it left the dealer. I believe it’s the local dealer who installs the tongue and bar to the rest of the machine.
