IF it is like here, Keeping the leases is a no brainer.
They will write down the lease and defer payment until after harvest, possibly even next spring.
The landlord is stuck with the deal as it is court ordered.
The lawyers collect $500 an hour for a high school student sending out letters to the creditors.
The collect $1,000 an hour to drink coffee and talk about sports and women, interrupted occasionally by mentioning the case.
I actually watched a young lawyer at $500 an hour flirting and eventually asking out a young lady.
If there are any available assets the lawyers will be sure to find enough billables to get them.
It is also likely the lawyers can form a corporation to buy what is owed for .50 on the dollar. Then that corporation defaults and that debt is resold for .50 on the dollar. This continues until the funds are all gone.
