| Have a cow who lost a calf and am attempting to graft a 10 day old bottle calf onto her.
Cow is pretty calm lets the calf nurse in the chute no problem. Calf is plenty vigorous and seems to know exactly what it’s doing.
Outside of the chute it’s a different story. I have not see the calf even attempt to nurse. Will it just take a few days for it to figure out that the cow has the milk now, not me?
It’s only been 1 day, so I am assuming I just need to be patient. How many times a day would you put the cow in the chute and let the calf nurse? | |
