Subject: DB60 Erratic population

Pesotum, IL
Using a DB60 high speed planter on beans and have noticed since the we got started about a week ago that I have some erratic population and singulation numbers early in the day.

It’s exclusively the left side of the planter. Same seed in each hopper. Vac adjustment seems to make no difference. 20” planter so it has 3 vac fans. The center fan feeds rows from both the left and right side and the ones on the right can be planting perfectly while the ones on the left are erratic. Showing both skips and multiples but underplanting. Then within a round it can go to perfect pop and 99%+ singulation and stay there the rest of the day.

I’m no expert on the inner workings of the machine so I’m grasping at straws here. One thought I had is this is the third season on this planter and we have never done anything with batteries on this machine. Seeing that it is first thing and it comes out of it so suddenly, could I potentially have a battery going bad that the generator is having to try to charge and run the planter? I don’t have any low voltage messages and I don’t know if it’s wired where one battery runs a section or they work together.

At a loss as to what might show up on exactly half the planter other than seed delivery and variety which I wouldn’t expect to go away so suddenly like my issues seem to do.
