Fontanelle, IA | Masseys bull is the only bull that I’ve ever heard that could stick 60-70 cows in 50 days by himself. I doubt his bull could do that same feat with other bulls (whether competing or fighting with others esp. in small pastures in the Iowa and east places).
Big traps, dry air, hard grass out west all play a role in facilitating/having multiple bulls in same pasture. The groups naturally split up except for maybe their loafing times at a common stock tank/dugout. We don’t know OP location but “here” with a pasture of 60-100 acres with possibly divided into 4-5 paddocks…. 3 bulls are gonna do what bulls do when they are surrounded by hot females…. Murphy happens. And, Murphy going to cost money.
Just my bias “here”. I understand your bias “there” | |
