North Central Indiana | Only if it’s a young guy that’s moving out of the area. That’s such a good argument to make except for the reality of renting to a guy that has a full time job also trying to farm. Is there really a risk he leaves? If he does someone new fills his full time job and likely brings in the same number of kids so there’s no change. If you rent it to a young guy who’s already farming he’s his one step closer to the big guy. No perfect solution of course. Or my personal favorite. Sell it to the young Amish couple because they’re good people, they have 30 kids, tear up county roads with buggy tires and horse shoes and pay virtually zero toward fuel tax, license fees, registration, etc and don’t put their kids into the school at all, then shop and do business with all other Amish businesses that do the same.
