Do whatever you want with your ground, you paid for it. Just remember if you rent it out to the highest bidder three counties away; don’t complain when there’s no one to man the ambulance, fire truck, or rescue rig for your emergency.
Another thing not to complain about is when the local school closes because there aren't enough young families with kids left in the community.
The highest bidder from 3 counties away isn't going to add any kids to the local school district because you rent him another 500 acres but if you rented it to a young guy and he stays in the community instead of moving to the nearest city you might end up with 2-6 extra kids in the school district over a couple decades.
That's a decision retiring farmers and landlords make that leaves a lasting legacy, either good or bad. Every choice has consequences, often those consequences aren't seen till several years later.
