NENE | I posted earlier about wanting to install 3" HDPE water pipe with a Gold Digger tile plow with a 4" boot. We did it and I was pleasantly surprised how well it went. They rolled out 3000' of pipe and fused it all together first. I made an extremely low budget guide post about 6 feet high on the side of the plow with a saddle for the plastic to slide through out of 3" pipe that I had laying around. We then used a UTV with a little light duty strap to help pull the pipe through the plow. After that we were golden. It fed through easy peasy. The only problem after that was pulling it. It had nothing to do with the pipe but the ground was hard and dry and we were trying to run as deep as possible. I'm glad I didn't have a bigger boot for that reason. I think the fact that it was 90 degrees outside was also very beneficial in making the pipe more flexible. I'm glad it's done and nobody or nothing got hurt. I wish I would have taken some pictures but neglected to do so. | |
