Very southern Mn | Jon, don’t you think if wheat crop is bad enough, that market will react? We have been sent multiple payments since Trump took office. Bridge payment was supposed to help farmers with increased tariff cost. I don’t care for Trumps antics, he should act more presidential and keep his mouth shut but I shudder if Kamila was running the show. Put yourself as president for just a minute. You have sent the farmers billions of dollars, they are less than 2% of voting base. You have a country that once they get nuclear weapons will either use them or threaten to blackmail what they want. Right now we bomb their strategic infrastructure and blockade their oil which is there money flow. European Union is so over run with their Muslim immigration problem that are not very good allies or are they going to be. Our immigration problem got so out of control in 4 years that it is completely overwhelming our healthcare and welfare systems. Yes illegals have done alot of needed jobs but at what cost? Obama deported way more than Trump administration with far less to start with. So stop blaming Trump for problems that he has to deal with as president. Is he handling right,time will tell. Did previous administration do anything helpful to farmers besides promote electric cars and buses that sure didn’t help agriculture. ( how is that bus deal working out?)
As farmers maybe we have to roll with it abit more. What did everybody do with record prices profits? Did we take on more debt to save on taxes or did we pay taxes and put money away to either help survive a downturn or be in a better position to buy some farm assets now? | |
